• Academic Counseling

Over the last 15 years, I have worked with students on their academic journeys ranging from academic planning to college counseling to tutoring to IEP/504 accommodation plans and everything in between.

I believe that every student deserves a unique educational approach and that no program is one-size-fits-all. I work collaboratively with students, parents, and teachers to help create an academic plan and tools for students to thrive.

In my years as Assistant Head of School, I reinvented our academic advising program creating a safe space for students to connect with faculty/staff through activities, conversation, and counseling. Not only did it help improve student academics but helped me to address common areas of concern amongst students when they were brought to my attention.

  • College Counseling

I have experience on both sides of the college admissions desk having worked for the University of San Francisco as an alumni recruiter following graduation. Additionally, I owned my own college counseling business for several years.

When working with students and families, I start by getting to know students and their goals and aspirations. We then work together to find colleges that will meet those needs. From there, I provide support for families through the application process including essay guidance and support in the scholarship/financial aid area. Finally, I help students and their parents consider all options before them in making their final decision.

  • Teaching

I hold a Single Subject Teaching Credential in History and have experience teaching Geography, U.S. History, AP U.S. History, Economics, and U.S. Government.

Additionally, I have taught English at the 6th-8th grade level, 9th grade English, and Theology.

Finally, have taught a myriad of elective courses on various topics ranging from Catholic Church History to Life Skills to Forensics to King Henry VIII.

  • "Cheerleader"

I believe the most important role we play in a student’s life as an educator is the role of “cheerleader.” It is our responsibility to be there and support them as they grow through moments of tremendous joy, growth, and challenges.

Being a cheerleader takes on many roles from chaperoning trips to Europe to driving a van full of students to a volleyball game to helping create programs for the school musical.

Coming from a small school, I have worn many hats from academic support to choir director to literally driving a lawnmower on the athletic field. I believe that if one program, one faculty member, or one student is successful than it has the power to impact the success of the entire school. After all, it only takes one person to make a difference.
